Social Studies-(All 5th grade classes) No homework from the book, but if you haven't finished the assignments in Renzulli, please do. Language Arts- (Our homeroom class) Read AR library books, study the Spelling words of the week, Spelling Week3 P29, and do Grammar Minutes Minute11&12. 

Mon., Nov. 29, 2010 Social Studies and Homeroom Homework:

Social Studies-(All 5th grade classes) Review chapter 5, "The Struggle to New Found Colonies" P154-185 and be ready for a test tomorrow. Do the Chapter 5 Practice Test.

Language Arts- (Our homeroom class) Read AR library books, study and write the Evan-Moor Unit 3 Spelling words of the Week 3 times each, and do the Reading Stanford10/TAKS practice story, "The Case of the Missing Notepad" P27-31 (17-23). 

Tues., Nov. 23, 2010 Social Studies Classes and Homeroom Class Homework:

Social Studies-(All 5th grade classes) Do the edHelper "The First Thanksgiving", by Cindy Grigg P1-3 (1-10). Also, if you didn't finish today the two Social Studies lessons in Renzulli and you have access to a computer at home this long holiday weekend, please finish them.

Language Arts-(Our homeroom class)  Read AR library books, finish Evan-Moor Unit 2 Spelling packet P24-27, Grammar Minutes Minute6-10 packet P13-17, and do the Thanksgiving Vocabulary Words activity.  If you have access to a computer this weekend either at home, or the public library, finish your two Language Arts activities in Renzulli.    

Mon., Nov. 22, 2010 Social Studies and Homeroom Homework:

Social Studies-(All 5th grade classes) Review L4 "The 13 English Colonies" P176-183. Do P181 Fact File "The 13 English Colonies" copy the chart on the New England, Middle, and Southern Colonies. Also, do the fun activity sheet of the Thanksgiving Vocabulary Words.

Language Arts-(Our homeroom class) Read AR library books, study the spelling words, write the Spelling words 3 times each, and do the Grammar Minutes Minute6 P13 (1-10). 

Fri., Nov. 19, 2010 Social Studies and Homeroom Class Homework:

Social Studies-(All 5th grade classes) Continue on your own to research about the 13 English Colonies. Find out about them what you can.

Social Studies- Read Ch5 L4 "The 13 English Colonies" P176-183, do the Vocabulary on P176  (1-12), read the lesson silently, and do Wk. Bk. P46. The pictures above are of Pocahontas. In one of them she's pictured with her son.

Language Arts- Read AR library books, study the Spelling words, sentences, and finish the Reading Stanford10/TAKS story started in class. 

Wed., Nov. 17, 2010 Social Studies and Homeroom Homework

Social Studies-(All 5th grade classes) Do the Ch5 L3 "The First Colonies" P168-173, do the Vocabulary P168 (1-14), read the lesson silently, and do Wk. Bk. P44 (1-6). Also, make sure you do extra research/reading about this great time in our country's history. Find out things about the Pilgrims, Pocahontas, John Rolf, John Smith, etc. When you go to the library check out books on these people and events. Remember that learning is fun and it's power!

Language Arts-(Our class) Read AR books, do Grammar Minutes3 P10 (1-10), and Evan-Moor Wk. Bk. Spelling do L1 P22 "Word Study" (1-28).
